BLDC Motor Driver ICs subcategories
When it comes to increased efficiency and durability, BLDC Motor Driver ICs offer the ideal solution for power electric motor applications. Compared to traditional brushed motor drivers, brushless DC motor drivers (BLDC) are quieter, lighter, and offer an overall smaller design footprint while providing increased reliability. -Brushless DC motor drivers come in one-, two-, and three-phase configurations. However, three-phase BLDC motor drivers are the most common.
While BLDC Motor Driver ICs offer fast speeds, increased durability, and a smaller design footprint, 3-phase brushless DC motor controller/drivers are more expensive and difficult to program compared to traditional motor drivers. This is because 3-phase brushless DC motor driver circuits are designed to ensure precision and accuracy when it comes to speed and torque control. For this reason, Infineon’s 3-phase DC motor controller circuits are designed with extended protection and supervision features.
The three-phase motor driver portfolio from Infineon offers a range of BLDC motor controllers with advanced features such as built-in protection, monitoring, and diagnostics with a high level of integration. This is complemented by Infineon microcontrollers, sensors, transceivers, voltage regulators, and MOSFETS for whole system solutions.
