MOTIX™ Embedded Power ICs provide System-on-Chip solutions for motor control applications

MOTIX™ Embedded Power ICs based on Arm® Cortex®-M integrate on single die the 32-bit microcontroller, the non-volatile flash memory, the analog and mixed signal peripherals, the communication interfaces along with the driving stages needed for either relay, half-bridge or full-bridge DC and BLDC motor applications.

Bridge Driver with a current controlled output stage, flexible charge- and discharge current settings and several diagnostic functions allow optimizing your system with our MOTIX™ Embedded Power ICs. These highly integrated products save space and energy, improve the overall system reliability through advanced diagnosis features and reduce the overall cost due to a minimum number of components. They perfectly fit with a range of motor control applications where a small package form factor and a minimum number of external components are essential. Such applications include window lift, sunroof, wiper, auxiliary pumps, HVAC fans and engine cooling fan, to name but a few.

Relay Driver IC with Integrated Arm® Cortex® M0

LIN based MOTIX™ Relay Driver ICs provide scalable motor control solutions
The MOTIX™ TLE984x product family brings together the Arm® Cortex®-M0 core and the market proven peripherals. It integrates on a single die all the necessary functions to sense, control and actuate a motor via a relay or via a PN MOSFET Half-Bridge. Produced on Infineon’s first-in-industry automotive qualified 130nm smart power technology, the Infineon MOTIX™ Embedded Power mixed-signal MCU offers an unmatched level of integration as well as system cost to performance optimization for the target application segments.

Our MOTIX™ Relay Driver ICs offer scalability in terms of flash memory sizes ranging from 36kB to 64kB with pin-compatible devices. It is specifically designed to fit to a wide range of LIN-slave motor control applications such as window lifts, wipers, sun roofs, fans and blowers to name a few. The new Infineon Embedded Power IC is supported by a complete development tool chain provided by Infineon and third party vendors. The tool chain includes compiler, debugger, evaluation board, LIN low level driver and configuration tool as well as various software code examples.

Half-Bridge Driver IC with Integrated Arm® Cortex® M0

Infineon´s MOTIX™ Half Bridge Driver ICs are designed to provide energy and cost efficient solutions
With our single phase solution simple loads can be addressed either via PWM or LIN. To achieve a smallest in class footprint, Infineon provides a system-on-chip (SoC) solution built on 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M0 core and offers a complete integration. MOTIX™ TLE9845Qx is coming in a leadless VQFN package (7x7mm²) helping to save PCB space. This highly integrated product provides the capability to drive a power PN MOSFET Half-Bridge. The Half-Bridge is built up with a P-channel MOSFET in high-side and an N-channel MOSFET in low side position. TheMOTIX™ TLE9845Qx combined with the PN MOSFET half-bridge is designed to address smart DC brushed motor control applications like HVAC blowers or auxiliary pumps and fans. The system solution increases efficiency using smart power on demand control, and a true mechatronic solution that places the electronic at the motor. As a result, the external control signal (LIN or simple PWM) to the motor control does not produce any unacceptable emissions that can disturb other electronic components in the car.

Our MOTIX™ Half Bridge Driver IC is pin-compatible to our MOTIX™ Relay Driver IC family and supports a platform approach. Therefore, it helps to reduce development time.

H-Bridge Driver IC with Integrated Arm® Cortex® M0

Infineon’s MOTIX™ Integrated Motor Driver optimizes the target applications by offering cost and energy effecient solutions
The MOTIX™ TLE985x H-Bridge MOSFET driver IC product family is a compact and cost effective motor control solution. It targets automotive applications such as sunroof, window lift, gate lift and pumps.

It integrates the 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M0 core together with market proven peripherals. It comprises two full duplex serial interfaces (UART) with LIN support, and two on-chip temperature and battery voltage measurement units.

Our highly integrated solution allows driving MOSFETs at low battery voltage (>=6V) with a minimum number of external components. This enables a very cost effective solution on a system level. Additionally, the MOTIX™ TLE985x product family supports energy management and embeds several protection functions.

The MOTIX™ TLE985x H-Bridge MOSFET driver IC has an adaptive control hardware implementation. The adaptive control algorithm is able to compensate the MOSFET parameters spread in the system. It is automatically adjusting gate current settings based on timing measurements to optimize the system`s EMC (slow slew rates) and power dissipation (short dead times).

H-Bridge Driver IC with Integrated Arm® Cortex® M3

Infineon’s MOTIX™ H-Bridge Driver IC family enables maximum functional safety and comfort features for the target applications
The MOTIX™ TLE986x family addresses a wide range of smart 2-Phase DC motor control applications like sunroof, window lift, electrical pumps, electrical fans. Additionally, it offers scalability in terms of flash memory sizes and MCU system clock frequency supporting a wide range of motor control algorithms. It uses the same MCU and peripherals as the MOTIX™ TLE987x family, 3-Phase driver, enabling design synergies between DC and BLDC motor control applications. Moreover, the charge pump is capable to drive gate charges up to 150nC per MOSFET under limited conditions.

3-Phase Bridge Driver IC with Integrated Arm® Cortex® M3

Infineon´s TLE987x family enables the implementation of advanced motor control algorithms
The MOTIX™ TLE987x family addresses a wide range of smart 3-Phase Brushless DC motor control applications like auxiliary pumps and fans.

It provides an unmatched level of integration and system cost to optimize the target application segments. In addition to this, it offers scalability in terms of flash memory sizes and MCU system clock frequency supporting a wide range of motor control algorithms, either sensor-based or sensor-less. Moreover, the charge pump is capable to drive gate charges up to 150nC per MOSFET under limited conditions

MOTIX™ TLE987x uses the same MCU and peripherals as the TLE986x family, 2-Phase driver, enabling design synergies between DC and BLDC motor control applications.
