Infineon’s flexible and feature-rich multi-phase digital controller portfolio powers CPUs, GPUs, SoCs and ASICs used in a wide range of applications such as Server, Storage, Datacom, Telecom and Consumer applications. These digital controllers support multiple communication protocols such as Intel SVID, AMD SVI2, AVS bus and PMBus and offer a wide range of programmable features through an intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI). Proprietary control system implementation combines linear and non-linear control algorithms to enable best-in-class transient performance with reduced output capacitance and thereby reduce the Bill of Material (BOM) cost. These controllers offer extensive fault protection and telemetry that help improve system intelligence and robustness. Pin-strapped programming enables the use of single part number for multiple applications and/or platforms thereby simplifying the logistics for customers.
Programming boards and USB dongles for digital multiphase controllers and digital interface POLs
Infineon’s programming boards and USB dongles provide a helpful tool for correct on-board programming of digital multiphase controllers anddigital interface POLs. Digital multiphase controllers and digital interface POLs (point-of-loads) must be programmed for correct operation in their application and in high volume production manufacturing. These devices are typically programmed in an automated test environment. For low volume prototyping, Infineon provides bench tools to efficiently program small quantities (<1,000) of parts before installation onto a board. These tools can typically program 1-8 parts at once using our available gang programmer software and the specific gang programmer broad related to the device to be programmed.
Infineon offers 1 to 12 socket gang programmers as well as USB dongle USB005 providing the interface between the GUI and the controllers. For simplicity, the gang programmers only require a USB connection for power and communication.
