All XMC4000 devices are powered by Arm® Cortex®-M4 with a built-in DSP instruction set. The Single Precision Floating Point Unit, Direct Memory Access (DMA) feature and Memory Protection Unit (MPU) are state-of-the-art for all devices – even the smallest XMC4000 runs with up to 80MHz in core and peripherals. It comes with comprehensive set of common, fast and precise analog/mixed signal, Timer/PWM and communication peripherals.
As a highlight, the XMC4300 and XMC4800 devices are the first-ever highly integrated Arm® Cortex-M® based microcontrollers with EtherCAT® integrated, bringing real time ethernet communication into an unrivaled level for ease of implementation and cost effectiveness. XMC4000 is the promising successor to traditional DSP/DSC and 32-bit MCU solutions. The XMC4000 family addresses industrial market needs and is ideal in particular for digital power conversion, motor control, sense & control, and IO applications.
